If you are struggling with a fairly basic logic chart layout then consulting a mathematics teacher would make more sense than hiring a lawyer.

I thought this was a supportive community!

The OP should definitely not feel bad for paying for a solicitor. It can be worthwhile if it makes the difference between a successful or unsuccessful application, or even a straightforward vs. non-straightforward one - and it well might because there are many nuances.

It is, and we frequently support people by hand-holding them through the fairly basic process of them filing their own applications. ... And also by recommending a lawyer when there are complications that warrant formal legal advice.

However if by "supportive" you mean "make them feel better about themselves for having coughed up £1,500 to complete a few biographic forms and collate some papers", then no, that is not what we do.

Well the OP does, apparently "feel bad", and I can understand why, even if you can't.

Clear or not, this sideline discussion is not constructive because it doesn't relate to the OP. It's too soon to say whether he made the right decision in his circumstances. Not point ranting about agent fees.

The OP has given us no information that would suggest that use of a solicitor is necessary or even particularly helpful.

Thank you. We hired a lawyer for our peace of mind. We want to build a good application, and to be honest, all the original documents we need to dig out is overwhelming. Considering some of the doc are in the shipment.

Constructive advise is always welcome. I guess we are here to encourage each other. Not bringing other people down.

Cheers.
