Spousal Visa: Changing Jobs While Visa Being Processed?
Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been answered somewhere but I have searched a few times and could not see something specific about this .
I'm Canadian and am on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa, currently living and working in London. I submitted my Spousal Visa on September 10th, and used both my current employment and my spouse's for the application (I did not include cash savings, as I was advised that both our jobs were more than enough).
I was just wondering what would happen if I moved before my visa is processed, as I assume that my visa will not have been processed until early December looking though the timeline posts.
Would I need to notify anyone? How likely is it that they call my current work?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks,
Alex

Your current application is based on our current employment - the category you applied under would have been based on your current employment history (Cat A or B)
If you leave your current job, then checks carried out by the authorities will show that you are no longer employed in that job. Your application will fail.

There’s no issue with you changing jobs providing you met the financial requirements on the day of application.

Sorry, but I don't agree with this.
At a minimum, if the authorities were to check up on his/her employment information, (and plenty of folks on this forum have had the authorities contact their employers) they would find the applicant is no longer employed at the company - the income, as stated in the application, can no longer be used to qualify.
At that stage, there is no obligation for the ECO to carry out further checks or contact the applicant to find out whether they are now employed or not.
Personally, it is not a risk many would take.

If the applicant changes jobs during the spouse visa process, informing the authorities of a change of circumstance would be advisable.
