Default returning resident to brp

I am a holder of ILR since 2006. It was cancelled in 2012 when I exceeded the two year staying outside UK rule. I did travel frequently to UK except for one time due to health reason, I exceeded by two weeks. Anyway, I applied and was subsequently granted a returning resident visa in 2014 after several appeals. Now I have lived in UK since 2014 and would like to apply for BRP.

On the NTL to BRP form, sec 3.11 How long have you lived in the UK, should I calculate from the date of return based on returning resident date in 2014 or the original ILR date in 2006. It seems repetitive if I have to list all the date of absence again when I have done it when applying for returning resident visa.I would think their system would have all the past records.

Please advise. Thank you.

I realised that there is going be a new digital system implementing in Nov. As at today I am still able to fill the form online and print out the form to be submitted with other documents by post. I am just wondering whether I should wait for the new system or submit now.

You’ll need to provide that information again. I would apply under the current system. New government IT system roll-outs are invariably chaotic.

Thank you, I went through a lot of hurdles to get the returning resident visa, just hope that it won't jeopardise my chance of getting brp.

No, it won’t make any difference.
