Question about Finacial requirement for Unmarried partners
Hello
Me and my partner are planning on moving to Scotland from South Africa, I am the British Citizen,
The problem is we do not meet the financial requirement as the salaries in South Africa are very low compared to the UK salaries.
My main question is from this part of the requirements
" You have earned the equivalent of £18,600 (or more if required) per annum for the past 6 months
You have a guaranteed offer of a job in UK with an annual salary of at least £18,600 (or more if required) which will start within 3 months of your return to the UK "
are Both of these required or is it more like either one of these will meet the financial requirement.
I have a job offer over 18,600 pounds per annum but i dont currently earn that much.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

You need both. The alternative would be to take the job, work for six months and then apply. How long have you been living together and can you prove it? Does your partner have any recent British, Irish or other European ancestry of their own?

We have been living together for more than 2 years.
Her Step mother is born in England if she was to be adopted by her do you think it would help get her citizenship.

Make sure you have sufficient paperwork to prove it. If not you should consider getting married.
Unfortunately not if she’s over 18.

I thought as much we are looking into rather giving Ireland a go as it seems easier for us to get in and then we don't have to split up for 6 months

That’s a possibility. If the transition deal goes ahead then the Surinder Singh route should remain open until 31 December 2020.

Worst case scenario is that the OP either stays in Ireland with their partner and either fulfil the financial requirements to move to the UK or the partner can become an Irish citizen in time which will give unrestricted access to the UK.
