Hi, I'm new here. I'm here on a spouse visa which is due to renew next year.

We've been living at a family home and don't have any bills or documents addressed to either of us as we don't own the house.

How can we prove for our FLR-M that we've been living together all this while? Would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

You may not have bills, but you must have documents with the address on that could be used surely? Bank statements, mobile phone bills, insurance documents, wills, NHS documents, polling cards, documents from HMRC, NI records, payslips, life insurance, etc, etc.

I missed to mention an important bit - which is that we haven't actually been living at the address used for spouse visa, reason being the owner of the place (also a family member) where we do live was unwilling to cooperate. So basically, we've got no documents addressed to us to the spouse visa address, so not sure where to go from here now.

That makes no difference, there's no requirement for you to have stayed at the same address you used on your initial application. You are allowed to move house.

So you don't have bills with your names on, but as per post no. 2, there is a list of stuff you can use without needing any input from the homeowner at all. Are you saying you have absolutely none of that? You must both have bank accounts, tax records, mobile phone bills, etc?

We both have bank statements and phone bills etc. But the address on them is the one that we won't be using to show Home Office is our residence.

So you live at address A but all your bills/personal correspondence go to address B.

Where you are now living - Address A - the owner is not willing to provide documentation such as agreement for you to live there/property documents etc

Is this the situation?

I live at address A, all correspondence goes to address A as well, but we can't use address A because:

- owner is unwilling for their address to be used as our residence for the next visa
- it'll be considered slightly overcrowded legally

So we're having to use address B which has enough space, but has no record of us being there basically in the form of bills or documents. All we have is consent from the owner saying they're happy to accommodate us there. So for the past year, we've got no documents to prove cohabitation because all correspondence has been to address A all this while.

Thing is we weren't aware we'll have to show proofs of living together for a whole period of 2 years.

That's immigration fraud. You can't use an address you don't live at, and it will be very easy for the HO to simply check council tax records or similar and see that you've never lived there.

The only issue is address B is not our primary residence. We've lived there but not for long. We're thinking of moving out and just rent now to move away from the whole unwilling owner problem.

So you live at Address A. Where does your spouse live, Address B? Do you not live together?

If your current landlord (address A) is not willing to give written permission for you to live there (although you already do, albeit in overcrowded accommodation) why not move to Address B which does have room and where the landlord is willing for you to do so?

Better still move out and get your own place - with your own bills/rent etc You're going to have to do something soon, as having 2 years of co-habiting proof is important.
