language requirement scare!
Is there really a language requirement for a spouse visa??
If your wife doesn't have certain certificates we cannot apply?
My wife is from Uruguay. Speaks perfect English as we have been together for ten years and worked eight years in uruguay working for uk clients.
She has a Cambridge first certificate from many years ago.
It has C on it.
Nothing about c1 or any numbers.
Does she not satisfy the spouse visa requirements? ?
Thanks

Says here that a pass at A, B or C (Cambridge First, FCE) is acceptable on the Cambridge website for spouse visas. my wife has a C for the Cambridge First.
But is says CEFR level A1. Bit contradictory.
Can anyone confirm this or explain?

Cambridge English:
First (FCE) Pass at grades A, B and C, or a Cambridge English Level B1 certificate will be accepted. In addition, your Statement of Results must show that you achieved at least a Weak level in all skills (except Use of English).

CEFR Level A1
The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) defines Level A1 as follows:
At this level, users can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Users can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. They can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help..

Re: language requirement scare!
Think I understand now.
A1 of CEFR is the lowest level.
And she needs a pass at A, B or C if she took FCE.
She has FCE grade C.
Think we are ok then.

Thanks.
She did take the tests in the Anglo but it was graded by Cambridge.
We need to root out the certificate to verify.
