Having a child whilst in the UK on a spouse visa.
My wife and I will be applying for a UK spouse visa in the near future and we would like to have a child when we get to the UK. Whilst she is on a spouse visa, will she be treated like a UK citizen? Will we need a greater income than £18,600? And if so, will the government recognize both our incomes as a total income?

Total non-issue. Any child born of a parent in the UK who has a visa to live in the UK legally will be a British citizen other than by descent. As a British citizen they don't figure in the income/savings calculation.

Thanks Pulaski. I just want to be sure of these things before I plan my life
