Default FLR(M) renewal - No Divorce papers

I am in the process of renewing my wife's Spousal visa [FLR(M)] and have hit a bit of a snag, I am not able to locate my divorce papers from South Africa. The South African law is that one cannot get married unless they prove that they are divorced. I have contacted the attorney who did the divorce, but they only keep the records for 10 years and as I was divorced 22 years ago the records are gone. I have instructed an attorney in South Africa to get my divorce papers but as they have not been digitised and the court's filing system is in a shambles they have not been able to locate them.

My divorces were declared on the original application 3 years ago.

Is an affidavit going to be acceptable in this instance (my current wife and my self have been married for 19years and 5 months)
