Hi everyone,

Just wondering how easy is it to have someone apply for British passport and dual citizenship if their mum is British but dad is an American citizen and they live in the USA?

Since you are talking about a Mum and Dad presume you mean a child getting a British passport having been born in US to British mother.

Just apply at British Embassy for passport for child, if mother is British.(presume mother has British passport)

Child will have US citizenship by virtue of being born in the States.

This presumes the person in question was born from 1983 onwards. If born before 1983 then the person would need to make an application to register as a British citizen (by descent) using Form UKM.
