Hi, I am wondering what I can get and how I can go about getting it.
My mother has a british passport and was born there and lived there until about 7. My dad is an american. I was born in US. and have a US passport. I am 19 and wondering if i can get a passport/citizenship. I don't have any intention of moving to the UK for a few years but would like to be able to if i wanted to. What would be the process of obtaining what I can get.
Do I qualify for a british citizen by descent and if so can i just apply for a passport or do I have to get citizenship documents first?

In the given circumstances, it sounds like you are already a British citizen (by descent) already. You can prove it by applying for consular birth registration and/or a British passport.

Is there any chance you aspire towards a security clearance in the United States? Having a British passport might impact on your ability to obtain one.

If your mother has not become a U.S. citizen she should strongly consider taking that step.
