Combining categories A/B and F for Spouse Visa
Hello,
My British wife is both employed and self-employed. We are planning to submit a spouse visa application some time in April so that we maximize her salary counted towards the £18,600 requirement.
She has been employed for over 6 months and can use either Category A or B for the application. However since we're combining with Category F, and cannot satisfy the conditions for Category B which says she needs to have earned a total of £18,600 at the time of the application from her employment salary, I was wondering whether this rule/condition changes when combining with Category F?
Also, if using category A, my wife got a pay rise in November. Will her smallest salary (which is in October) still apply and be multiplied by 12 in the case of pay rises?
Thank you.

Re: Combining categories A/B and F for Spouse Visa
Income under Category F or Category G can be combined with income from salaried and non-salaried employment, non-employment income and pension income in order to meet the financial requirement. However, unlike with other Categories, these sources of income must fall within the relevant financial year(s) in order to be included. Under Category F or Category G, all sources of income must fall within the financial year(s) relied on and must still be a source of income at the time of application.
As your wife has been employed for over 6 months then use Cat A and add this income to that of self employment. The lowest amount per month will be used to calculate annual income.
Note that the income from employment must correspond to the financial year of that of self employment.
