hi everyone just a quick question if a refugee with refugee leave to remain has a child how can they let the home office know? The home office says you have to make a leave-in-line claim but they haven't left any contact details anywhere. any help would be great

You are correct - there are numerous articles which state you must inform HO of any children born when under refugee status, but no actual addresses/emails etc.
Would suggest contacting the department which the refugee has already had contact with. Presume the refugee has some written/e-mail correspondence with such a department in order to have gained refugee status

Thank you for all the responses. I have reached out to the email addresses and contacted the Home Office helplines, but unfortunately, they haven’t been helpful. I’ve now sent an email to the complaints department to see if they can assist, though I’ve been informed it could take up to three weeks for a response. I’ll also try reaching out to Migrant Help to see if they can provide any guidance. It’s quite surprising that the Home Office doesn’t seem to have a dedicated process for this—or if they do, it’s not clearly communicated.

also another thing that has been mentioned is that the mother is on a spouse visa does that change anything?

Who has refugee LTR then? The father?

yes, father has refugee leave to remain and has applied for indefinite leave to remain. The mother is on a spouse visa.

So neither parent has permanent residency i.e Indefinite leave to remain....

I have an update so they have been given permission to stay on the protection route and have not been granted indefinite leave to remain. They have permission to stay until 27 JUL 2027. What route can be taken to get permission for the daughter now? I have never heard of the protection route. They have informed me they committed a criminal offence that's why he was not granted indefinite leave to remain. I have called migrant help but because they are no longer a asylum seeker they no longer can get help from them.

They should contact the department who has given them permission to stay under the protection route and enquire as to what to do about daughter.

• family members granted leave in-line under the family reunion policy having
met the requirements of Paragraphs 352A to 352G of the Immigration Rules.
All dependants may apply on their own SET-P application form or as part of a group
application. A responsible adult may apply on behalf of a child under the age of 18.
‘Partner’ and ‘child’ is defined in the introductory section of the Immigration Rules.

and the link takes me to indefinte leave to remain page so do i have to apply for that for my child?

Just a update on this. i sent a email to the leave in line one i found on the internet and i got a reply of

they dont have a reply email would it be useful to complain to there complaints email?

What can be done in this situation? A child is born to a parent who holds refugee status but was refused settlement. However, the mother has a Partner (FLR M) visa. Can the child be added to the mother’s visa instead?

I previously emailed Leave in Line, and they advised that I needed to apply for a Settlement Protection application for the child. However, after following their instructions and submitting the application, it was refused. Why would I be told to apply for this route if it was only going to result in a refusal? Could a mistake have been made in the process?

The Home Office and solicitors have not been able to provide clear guidance, and we don't want to pay a large fee only to receive another refusal. What are the best steps to take in this case?

I would suggest your friend gets a good lawyer ....
