Hello everyone

I am new to this forum so please go easy on me.

Your help would be very much appreciated in regards to my query.

I intend on applying for British citizenship and passport.

Here's the thing, I was born in the Republic of Ireland in 1989, now currently holding Irish citizenship and Irish passport.

Am I entitled to full automatic British citizenship as both my parent's are UK citizens, who were born in the UK. (Belfast and London).

And there parents (My grandparents) are UK citizens also.

This does this in turn make me eligible for British citizenship through descent?

Or am I already a full British citizen who just has to apply for a passport.

Any help or opinions would be great.

I have tried ringing the UK border agency, and Home office but to no avail.

It's next to impossible to get hold of somebody to talk directly with.

Based on the facts given, it appears that you are already a British citizen by descent. Apply for a British passport to prove it.

So technically speaking I am already a British citizen and therefore do not have to apply for citizenship?

But will obviously have to apply for a British passport.

These laws are somewhat complex to say the least!
