British passport photo
Hi guys, I'm applying for one of my daughters British passport, I want to use the first photo is smiling ok for a child?

Check the rules about hair. I think it looks OK, but depending on whether a Jobsworth is checking it they might think her hair is too close to her eyes.
Are you in the UK? If so, it would be worth taking your application to the Post Office and using the "Check and Send" service.

I wouldn't worry about the hair as she's under five. Send both in if you want - then just include a note expressing your preference for the first set if possible.

The hair isn't supposed to conceal the eyes, even in children - it just depends on whether the person checking it thinks the fringe is too low. I just applied for my passport and one of the example "Don't" photographs in the booklet is of a young girl with hair over one of her eyes. Better safe than sorry.

You can avoid any problem and the possibility of having to get another set of photo's, by having your little tacker face camera, with hair off her face, and not smiling.
I did a sad face behind camera for my Grandy, and he picked it up and stopping smiling-they took the shot!
Then I grinned so that he didn't burst into tears!
