British Citizenship/ILR
Don't know if anyone can help but I'll ask anyway.
We moved back to the UK from Canada in August and I'm just wondering if my OH will ever be able to become a British Citizen (we've been married for 8 years). He has ILR (he's had it since he was a teenager) but because of his job he spends many months of the year out of the country and from what I understand in order to apply he can't have been out of the country for more than 270 days in a three year period. Are there any exceptions to this rule? Just wish he'd applied for Citizenship years ago when this wouldn't have been an issue.

There is a discussion in Annex B to Chapter 18 of the Nationality Instructions of the circumstances in which the residence requirement may be relaxed:
