Default Am I eligible for British Nationality

I am a Canadian Citizen who immigrated from Pakistan 16 years ago. I have been researching my family ancestry for the last few years and came across some information about my grandfather.

My grandfather was born in Madras India in 1909 and in was enlisted in the Royal Indian Army Services Corps posted in Iraq. He died in August 1943 and I have letter from King George to his wife (my grandmother) confirming his death. This letter was lost for the last 70 years and only recently found. I did further research and found a war record for my grandfather which gave more info on the medals he was awarded for his service in the war and I have a record of that.

I have a brother still residing in Pakistan who asked me to look inquire if there was a chance that somehow we are eligible for British nationality by descent. My brother is in contact with a family in a similar situation who applied and were given British nationality and traveled to England a few months back.

If anyone has any knowledge on whether this is possible or eligible, I would appreciate any guidance on how to proceed.

There aren't any "similar situations". The slightest difference in the facts can greatly impact eligibility for citizenship.

Where were your grandfather's parents born? This may shed some light as to whether he became a Citizen of the U.K. & Colonies in 1949-51, or remained a British subject. Or whether he became a citizen of India or Pakistan, or another Dominion.
