Default £62,500 savings help for spouse visa

I have the required amount however it is in two different accounts, both with barclays.

I transfer £200 from the current account to the isa account once a month.

I am now worried about this as I have heard that when they calculate the amount in your savings they merely take the lowest number of each account during the 6 month period and add them together. This would mean I would have £1200 not counted for, thus leaving me under the required amount.

Anyone have any experience or information on this matter? Thanks.

During the 6 months you have held the accounts, the total amount must NOT have fallen below 62,500 GBP at any time.

So, if at one time you have 20K in one account and 40,500 in the other - even if at another time you have 20K in one and 45,600 in the other - your application will fail.

The sum of the accounts will always be above £62,500 at any point during the 6 months, its just one account is going down by £200 every month while the other is going up £200 every month.

Does an ISA account count as being cash? Surely most ISA's are in stocks & shares. Just curious as we have over £50K in an ISA but were not intending to include that when calculating the £62.5K savings requirement, which is held in two current accounts.

If it’s clear from your bank statements that the £200 is being transferred from one account to the another on the same day then I don’t see there being an issue.
