Hi all,

I am going to Hong Kong for ten days in February and want to know of a good, clean and fun youth hostel to stay in. Must be safe, full of internationals, and be in a location near bars and restaurants.

You might want to try posting in China sub-forum too as there are HK threads in there too. Mmmm, not sure if HK should be in China sub-forum or separate - a bit too political for me.

Of course, HK (and Macau for that matter) should be in China sub-forum. It is a city in China after all. Why is it 'too political'?

Taiwan, on the other hand, might be a bit trickier.

Dunno, maybe not political as such, but both Hong Kong and Taiwan are "treated" as separate countries by some other countries (in Singapore for instance).

Agree with you re Taiwan though. In my previous life (working) I got a real rollicking from a Chinese guy once, when I had a list of our clients and had put one as coming from Taipei, Taiwan, and he let it be known to all and sundry in a very loud voice that I should have put Taiwan, China of course

will you consider ymca hotels? well they are not exactly youth hotels but they are located in the urban areas, e.g. YMCA Salisbury
you may also try Y-loft in Youth Square in Chai Wan (a bit remote)
