Two weeks!

Two weeks!
We arrived in Vancouver two weeks ago and although still in a temporary apartment we are thoroughly enjoying ourselves.
Car purchased (and got finance), credit card arranged, house cleaned, TV purchased, just awaiting the container......
The folks of Yaletown have been very welcoming, it's amazing the warm welcome you get with small dog and child in town. Now I'm worried that moving to the suburbs might be too quiet, time will tell.
The advice I've received through this forum has made life much easier.
Thank you

Welcome Tootlepootle ... you sound like you're settling in very well. I'm pleased you're happy and enjoying your new home. And it only gets better..
I agree... Canadians are very welcoming. When we arrived here first we stayed with friends in Oakville, that was a huge help. When we moved into our first home .. an apartment, I hung up the phone (politely I must add) on 'The Welcome Wagon' on three separate occasions thinking they were selling something or another. After their attempts to welcome us on the phone failed they gave up and came to the door. You can imagine how embarrassed I felt when they explained that they wanted to bring us gifts and information to help us settle into the area ..
I'm glad to say they thought it was really funny.

Yaletown is a really nice area, people around there are particularly friendly, when I've been in the area I've noticed that as well - glad you are settling in!
