Hi all,
I wanted to update all those who have sent me their good thoughts and help.
My saga is about moving to Canada from the UK and hating every waking moment of it. Much of this had to do with where we landed.

So... We are in the process of moving to the Vancouver area. Mission, actually.
My husband finally gave it up and decided it was cheaper to buy there than get a divorce. I'm sure it was more than that...I'm making a funny.

So it seems to all have been resolved. I am off my island prison and beginning to dig in here in Mission. I wish it was the UK, but we all have to compromise in a marriage. We now each have some of what we want.

Thank you everyone for your help, your support and your happy thoughts. You guys are a wonderful bunch and I am blessed to have had you looking out for me.

I am so glad I popped in here today to read about your good news! You sound a lot happier. I myself have had to also compromise for sake of my marriage and my OH's health and we are staying here on VI in the same house but I have closed the B&B and I am retiring (when do women retire?) and like you will be able to get a life! We will be here for at least 5 to 7 years before we have to make decisions again! xx

Oh, Feelbritish, I hope it all goes really well for you.
Closing the Band B will help I'm sure, and will give you time to find a new life.
I'm sorry you won't be going home. I wish we both could, but we have to be grateful for the good things we do have instead of pining away for what we don't have.

But I do have admit, in the deep of the evening or when I see my beloved England on the Telly, I wonder if I couldn't move back if I'm widowed.......there's just something about the green quilted landscape that fills me with such joy and desire to be there.
I think the longing for home will never end no matter how good I have it here.
The welsh have a word for it, hiraeth. A longing for home that encompasses more than just that which is familiar, more like longing for spiritual belonging.

Good luck to all.

Well done Delta. Of all the stories you see on here, yours always felt the hardest to bear. I really hope that your compromise works for both of you, and what a wonderful time of year for it to all come together. Have a wonderful Christmas, and hopefully a brighter New Year! ;)
