Re: 7 Months in Calgary - WOW
No offense taken, I have been letting my computer spell check and correct everything. In business I need to use the spelling / grammar / language they use here otherwise I look even more foreign. I get confused as to what they use so I let the computer change it for me.
Merry Christmas to you and yours too! Looks like a white one!

White one? Not here! This will be my first Christmas outside of the U.K. and I have to say I find some difficulty believing it is December when the temperature is still between 28 deg. C and 32 deg. C! Takes a bit of getting used to. However, I did actually see some lights outside a house a few nights ago!
All the best.
Roy.

Great update, Wayne!!
We're back in Edmonton for Christmas visiting the family and had to laugh when I read your comment about Canadians being so overly friendly. Just in the first couple of days back, I had so many people in shops, out in public, etc. just strike up a conversation. "Oh, you live in Australia now? Wow, what's that like?" It's been nonstop and strikes me how different compared to living in Perth where for the most part locals don't really care about your business whatsoever.
We're enjoying the winter, the shopping, the dinners out, and then it's back to Perth in time for the rest of summer. One thing I have noticed is that the prices here are all over the place. Some things are cheaper (electronics, kids' toys, clothing) while many of the food items here are the same price if not more than back in Perth. It may be a case of the whole Safeway vs. Save On vs. Costco thing but seeing as we're not getting a Costco membership just while we're here, we're going by the prices at the local Safeway/Sobeys.

Thanks. Will do. Makes it easier to chill the wine for Christmas dinner by just putting it in the snow drift for half an hour.

Wayne, thank you I greatly enjoyed your post. Sounds like you are well able to cope with whatever surprises Canada might think to throw at you. Well done
