57 years on 4 April

4 April 1967 it was a spring like day getting on that BOAC 707 from Manchester to Malton Airport. The day I arrived it was so friggin cold, a cold that I had never experienced. A few worldly travels since then, wife & I are still here living the Canadian dream

at age 77 I just wish that the mind & body were in sync.
as other elderly folks know, there is so much life yet left to live, still things to see & do, more travels etc - the mind is willing the body has its limitations, especially when it comes to climbing a mountain or long flights.
this year plans are a one go round trip 10-14 days YYZ - LQA (Malta) - MAN -YYZ,last time we were there was 1974. Now there's my wife (age becomes her), hates flying long journeys.
a bucket list item for 2025 is the non-stop flight from JFK-SYD-LHR then back to YYZ..has to be business class.
one can only dream of the bucket list, including recalling the day arriving in Canada, green horned, looking back, thinking *how the heck did I do that*

Well, I beat you to Canada by 11 months arriving on a BOAC 707 out of Prestwick (Glasgow) on May 15th.1966. So that’s 58 years as of next month. Overall, they’ve been great years and not one moment of regret from me. Had good, well-paying employment, as did my wife, and now, both in our early 80s, reaping the pensions rewards. We’re both very content with our lives, living in a nice house/area with family and good friends close-bye. Can’t think of anything we’d change, except to win the lottery and make a lot of people happy and rich. I know I’m on the last lap of life and that’s okay. Nobody gets out of this life alive and I can only hope that when it comes, it’s peaceful and pain free, but that’s not in my hands, c’est la vie.

looking back to the UK of the 60's, coming to Canada was a way better choice.
congrats on your approaching 58 years, doesn't time fly when one is having so much fun with those close to us.
as for winning the lottery, sharing it would make someone close very happy.
