12 months today
12 months today since I arrived in Canada.
Originally moved to Red Deer as my wife had already been there for 7 months, then bought a property in Sylvan Lake.
So far still enjoying it, apart from a few niggles with the job, can't seem to drag them into the 21st Century, here's hoping I will be able to bring them up to the 20th century during my time with them.
Canadian beurocracy is absolutely attrocious, was told that my Red Seal application was cancelled as they informed me twice of exam dates and I was a no show, they sent the details to my address in Calgary, only problem is I've never lived in Calgary. Hopefully all sorted now after me telling them that I wasn't resubmitting my application, paying another $450 application fee, or $100 resit fee for an exam I hadn't even sat.
Sunshine today with still a lot of snow on the ground, weather is due to improve except for the snow forecast for this weekend.
Since I arrived 12 months ago, Albert'a experienced the wettest summer, and longest and coldest winter for a few years. Thankfully I haven't been accredited with the blame yet, but things can only get better.
So apart from a few niggles, life's good, we're both healthy and happy and have no thoughts of moving for quite some time, we plan to make the most of our time here.
Still waiting for our TWP extensions and AINP PR to be processed, lots of stressfull times ahead, but we're here and hopefully here to stay.
Good luck to all who, like us, are still at the beginning of our new lives here in Canada.
Health, happiness and prosperity to all, and as the late, great Dave Allen used to say, "may your god go with you".

Re: 12 months today
Just been looking at some weather stats - Red Deer beats Edmonton on coldest and snowiest - not a good thing to beat someone at
