You fat....

Re: You fat....
Are you saying that people in Toronto are thinner than those living elsewhere? That's true of the Asians but I don't think it otherwise holds, look at the Mayor for a start.

Re: You fat....
You should try visiting New Zealand, the locals are all built like rugby players as many are Islanders (Tongan, Samoan etc). As a delightful fatty myself, I took great joy in telling people that I was Tongan................when I am whiter than a sugar cube.
Mental note to self............dont go back to the UK and avoid small minded people in Toronto too

I don't think there are any well known people, people of whom posters here will have heard, who live in Toronto so examples are difficult to cite. Sticking with Mayors the previous one had something of a gut on him and the one before that was elephantine.

Ah but you went on to say that the UK would sink under the weight of us "fatties", so you weren't commenting in a positive way, now were you?

In all seriousness this was meant as a heartfelt discussion on whether or not people's perception of the UK changes when they go back for visits.

Re: You fat....
If you are going to pick one person you might as well argue everyone from Belleville is as skinny as Avril Levigne or Riyo Mori (Miss World 2007..who attended high school in our fair city)
Does living abroad change your perception of where you came from. Most certainly yes. Is Canada any different to the US or UK in it leasure and eating habits and is it immune from the burgeoning threat of Obesity, most certainly not. Why else do we get $500 a kid tax break to get them off there arses and exercising, and why else would I have gained 30lbs since coming here?

My BiL calls me a "chunker".............
The one thing I have noticed is that a few years ago, clothes sizes stopped mostly at 16 except in specialist shops (which were expensive). Now I can get clothes everywhere. I can even get larger Speedo swimsuits than a few years ago, which is nicer for me as I swim a lot!
