Default Yes, it's yet another electrical gadget question...

Our computer monitor runs on 19v (yes, nineteen) DC. Is that unusual? I was just wondering if it would be easy enough to find a new power lead once we get to Canada? It's an 18" LCD flat thing, so we'd like to bring it with us. Any thoughts, anyone?

I've got an LCD flat monitor also & to answer your question all you will need to get it to work is either :

1) A travel adaptor so you can plug your UK lead into the canadian socket
2) A lead with the canadian plug already on the end.

My monitor came with a UK lead & a 110V US/Can lead with it, no 19 Volts is not unusual LCD monitors consume way less energy hence the low voltage DC.

Have fun

Thanks for that, SpeC. I couldn't find anything saying that the input voltage could vary.

I don't think I was surprised that the monitor ran on as little as 19v, simply that 19 seems like a peculiar number. I'm not that keen on prime numbers.
