Watched a report on these and they are a con...no more goodness in them than normal yoghurt or healthy diet.

The capsules are the only thing that actually contain enough of the goodies to work. The ones containing acidophilus and bifidus are widely available in drug stores etc. This info came from our chiropractor and also a stomach expert in the UK who dealt with a complaint my mother had. He said if everyone took these things his job would be a lot easier.

I looked everywhere for these at first as well and couldn't find them. Bought a bottle of the capsules from the local pharmacy and almost immediately went into severe bloat mode. Just be careful what you buy.

I have been taking the capsules for 3 months. They are good for a lot of things, stomach etc. I get them at the health store and the one I take is by Nature's Way Primadophilus Bifidus. 5 billion CFU. (Yellow top)
There are several makes, read the label for ingredients/content. This needs to be kept in the fridge and you will likely find it at the store in their fridge. Some do not but I have'nt found those.
I also have a few spoons of Stonyfield yogurt (French Vanilla) each day as well.
If you pick up some magazines at the health store there are articles on probiotics from time to time. Also read some health books on the subject.

have you tried kefir, it is mega easy to make and you could get powder from the refrigerated section at the supermarket. if you are a bit braver you could get some grains, people ship them all over the world and just charge for the postage, you just put the grains in some milk leave on the side for 24 hours then drain grains for next batch and drink the kefir, just like yoghurt but far more bacteria in it. powder works the same but you only get 6 batches from each sachet, let me know if you want a site with free grains o google 'kefir grains free'

Probiotics are relatively new to the market... you didn't hear this from me, but heck I don't work for any related company anymore, but Actimel will be launched in Canada pretty soon. Otherwise there are yogurt based probiotics instead...
