Just praying for a Mexican win against Canada then it's "close the door on your way out" yanks

Don't think so A_S. I'm not sure of the tie-break rules but I heard that if Canada lose by more than 2-0 then the Mexicans and the Murkins go through.

If Mexico beat the Canadians 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 then both would own a tiebreak edge and the US team would be eliminated.

Yeabut. If Canada win we're through whatever. Shirley that's more important. If the cry-baby merkins get their collective asses kicked out so soon, then you can be completely sure that this will be the first and last world baseball thingy.

Mexico 4 Canada 0 after a half inning. I guess the tie break rules are fairly moot at this point.

GO CANADA

Is Ontario the only place where Canadians play Baseball?
Or... are there amateur leagues in the other provinces?

Toronto's Blue Jays are the only MLB franchise in Canada (since the Montreal Expos relocated to Washington DC 2 years ago). There are several A & AA franchises (farm clubs) in other Canadian cities as well as many semi-pro and amateur leagues all over the place (except Iqualuit).

The timing of this tournament sucks big time in my opinion.

They are not necessarily going to have the best players from any of the countries there. The NHL playoffs will be in full swing by then and the best teams with one has to assume the best players will still be playing for the Stanley Cup. There will be some good players there but not all by any stretch of the imagination.

Cheers
Steve

P.S. Are you implying that the men are gay when you say the suck at hockey.
Sorry couldn't resist, I'll crawl back into my cave now.

You're right - especially it being an olympic year - should have been cancelled till next year like the girls was!

Maybe canada will actually have a chance then with all the teams being equally as bad or will that make it even harder for the boys to actually play hockey?
