I am a US permanent resident and my husband is Canadian. I spend a few months per year in Canada and would like to work while I am there. I know I can work in Canada if my husband sponsors me but I want to get my US citizenship first and then move to Canada. I just graduated with a bachelors in CIS and am looking for jobs both in Canada and in the US. My situation is a bit confusing but is there any procedure by which I can get a temporary work permit or something to work in Canada while I wait to apply for my US citizenship that would be next year. Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'm not at all sure, might be better to ask in "Canadian immigration" as there are a number of very knowledgable experts posting there on immigration matters.
I dont think so, as I think you would jeapordise your US citizenship claim if you were to apply and recieve a canadian work permit. Once you are a US citizen some professions reap the benefit of NAFTA rules which simplifies getting a visa to work in Canada. Same applies going the other way, Canadian PR is no help for getting a US T1N visa at the border, but Canadian Citizens can, as long as you meet the criteria.
Not at all sure of the details though.
