Yeh I've already done that, I just want to get some inside info from people who been through it all before.

But can you choose specifically which city you want to go to or is it based on different factors?

Also, I have no work experience whatsoever, the only thing helping me is my academics on my CV, would I even stand a chance of getting into Work Canada with BUNAC? What about finding a job?

And I looked at the blogs and videos on the BUNAC site and the only jobs that participants seem to take are instructor type jobs on ski resorts, things in hotels, theme parks, clubs and pubs and all those stuff. Are the job types really restricted to those I just mentioned? Or can you get different ones such as those pertaining to information technology? I'm just not keen on being an instructor or working in a pub, at all.

Are there other ways to find jobs in Canada? Right now I'm searching for companies in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal and I'm going to phone them if they are willing to do internships for someone from UK. Not sure how far I will go with that.
Well having done both BUNAC Work Canada (and preparing for a second stint) and IAESTE I should be reasonably well-informed to comment...basically as the guy who replied to you earlier stated correctly - albeit pretty rudely - the answers to most of your questions can be found on the BUNAC website. In a nutshell though, it's just an open visa for a year that pretty much anyone 18-30 can apply for, the only difference being whether it's a student or non-student visa you have, for which you would have the former if you're taking a deferred year. The visa types are no different once you arrive in Canada.

Bear in mind that a lot of people do Work Canada as a gap year before or after university, or as a career break for those who already have one. As they're really there for the novelty of being in another country, to have new experiences and relax - and are often not stacked with cash either - they tend to do more casual jobs such as those you mention. You can go there through BUNAC and look for career work though, and there are people on this forum who have done so and gained permanent residence thereafter. However as you're only part-way through uni it may be better to just go and find whatever work you can, as even if you did find a professional job you'd have to gve it up to go back to uni. You would be eligible for another visa in the future when you could go back again, should you enjoy it the first time. Incidentally you can do an IAESTE placement after you're graduated too, and that can be near enough anywhere depending on what they offer.

Thinking about it if you were to follow what I've just said you'd basically be mirroring my life plan from the last 3-4 years but hey, you could do worse .

Yes, absolutely. There is plenty of advice on how to do this on the wiki section of this website and BUNAC offer some hints with their literature.

Respectively; simple as long as you read the instructions carefully, no, and in your case just that you have a university place confirmed after you return from your BUNAC year.

Hey, how did you do your CV when applying for the visa/applying for BUNAC? I emailed them and they said it must be one page only. How did you do it? What did you focus on, etc?

Butch isn't rude - just truthful and you'll find he's helped a lot of people on here - many behind the scenes - you know a bit like the charity work people don't want to talk about.

Also that manners and common courtesy go a long way on here - I didn't notice a thanks for your lengthy reply either?????

It doesn't matter, BUNAC themselves don't really care and just want to see that you're a legitimate person without a criminal record etc. Besides you've said you have no work experience to speak of so fitting it onto one page should be fairly straightforward shouldn't it? Anyhow I think you need to read their website a little more, oh and try the Facebook group.

Feel free to contribute anywhere, anytime. Knowledge of an 'issue' isn't a prerequisite for expression of an opinion

I'll second that - and add that knowledge and coherance in general are not required either.
