I only got around 6 to 8 inches but loving it too, we are asked by every one that talks to us fining out we have just landed "how do you like the weather"? they look stunned when we say we love it beats the cold wet we got back in Scotland 24/7

We're meant to have lots of rain over the next couple of days ..... I'm in the west country. Fed up with the amount of rain we've had this autumn/winter but I'm expecting drought warnings/hose pipe bans in the summer That's Britain for you

We had -19 yesterday morning with wind chill making it feel like -26

Today it is currently around zero, the sun is out and I have just been outside to put my garbage out, dressed in just a t-shirt (on my top half !!) and it feels balmy !
Honestly, the rapid changes around here are incredible.

-29 Celsius in southern Finland this morning, brrrrr. The windchill factor probably makes it almost -40. Not sure how much snow there is as it's been here for several months and is frozen solid!

Ross and Vi, we are hoping to move to PEI in a couple of years from now. I'm English but have lived in Finland for five years and my partner is Finnish so he's used to cold temperatures and lots of snow. We both wonder what the catch is though - why is it so cheap to live on PEI when everything seems to be so wonderful? Is it just that the harsh winters put some people off?
Jari, my partner, asks if you get serious hurricanes and storms over there - bad enough to cause major damage to the houses? He says that he can't get his head around how the winds and storms would be on a small bit of land surrounded by ocean!
