Evening all,
I just wanted to introduce myself and say what a great website this is. I can officially say i'm hooked!! I've found things on here i wouldn't have dreamt of thinking of.
My boyfriend and i have began seriously thinking about moving to Canada but to be honest we don't know even where to start, we can't even settle on where we'd like to live, far too much choice! We've decided that we want more from life and if we don't do something now we never will. At the moment i work in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor, i've began to look for a job already but because we can't decide on where we'd like to live it kind of widens the search, which i guess isn't a bad thing. At the moment i've been looking at jobs advertised in construction journals in the UK for companies who will support the whole process, don't know if anyone else has done it this way?
We really need to narrow down the places we'd like to live especially before we go on a recce, might be a little much visiting the whole of Canada! Any recommendations?
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, canada_bound, and welcome to the BE forum.
Quantity surveyors are construction estimators in the National Occupational Classification.
They are listed as Occupations under Pressure (OUPs) in Alberta and British Columbia.
In this thread I have explained to Angela the significance of the OUP lists.
Hope that helps.
