Where shall we get married???
#1
So after 3 years and 4 months of our first kiss, Mr L2S proposed to me at Easter on top of the sand dunes in Death Valley whilst watching the sunrise.
Now the shock of how romantic Mr L2S was has sunk in, it is time we start planning the wedding.
But the big question is here or the UK????
We'll have some sort of celebration / party in the country that we don't get legally married in so hopefully no-one will feel left out but .......
Does anyone know of the legal issues or logitical issues which might make it easier for us to get married in one country over another?
Thanks
L2S

Firstly Congrats, but do it quick dont let the bugger change his mind.

Secondly I know of no legal issues, so I would say get married on a ski slope here in Cannuckstan

Congrats.
Vegas is nice
Thankyou, thankyouverymuch

No legal problems. We had a webcast for the benefit of those elsewhere. Cheap as chips too
Touring around the grand canyon and numerous other fantastic landscapes in that area was a great honeymoon destination too.

Don't you have to be resident in the UK for so many weeks to get married there??
Anyway, on top of a mountain sounds good.
Congrats

Congrats!
If you want a big family wedding then get married back in the UK.
Our friends did this last year, and there are no legal issues. They also had a big engagement party here in Vancouver for friends, plus two stag/hen dos!
Oh and their honeymoon would be right up your street - two weeks of cat-skiing and heli-skiing in Kootenays

We got married in Vegas...Then spent the money we saved by not paying for all the people we knew to have dinner on the same night on a backpacking holiday around Mexico and a few days back in San Francisco. Loved every minute and there were no dramas/family fueds/drunk best men etc.....!!!!!
That said you do live 2 ski sooooo...Perhaps Vegas would be too hot!!!!
Congrats and good luck anyway

if you want a church
then you may need to meet certain residence requirements
other than that you should be fine
we rented a church in one of those pioneer historic towns and bought a vicar, solved most problems and gave it a bit of a theme too
