Hi All,
Happy New Year to you.
I was wondering if i could get some help / advise on where to live in the Toronto area.
I have been offered a Job that is based in Mississauga, but near Pearsons International Airport, if i remember correctly the office is off Commerce Boulevard which from what i can see from Google Maps is in the North East of Mississauga.
What would be the best places to live to get access to both down town Toronto (my wife will probably end up working here) and for me?
Initially i think we will be renting an apartment to see what other areas we like and how the commute pans out etc.
What would 1,500 - 1,750 CAD get me?
What is etobicoke like?
I am presuming being near a subway / Go Train stop is a good diea as well?
I would really appreacite your comments / thoughts.
Thanks
Katen

Property and rent near the airport is readily available and cheap. Mississauga is also inexpensive. I prefer Toronto however you will be paying more, and although Etobicoke is somewhere in the middle it could also be a good option if you don't mind the commute.

I mention it because it's the only one of the attractive areas of Toronto usually mentioned that is a reasonable commute to the airport. I suppose you could also live downtown.

I knew someone who lived in Roncesvales and worked in Mississauga (Burnhamthorp & Mavis) and said her commute was roughly 15-20 minutes by car to get to the office for 8 am.

i have seen on the internet that there are a number of new high rises built in downtown mississauga, are these any good?

North of the QEW Mississauga is a godforsaken wasteland and I would not condemn even Magaret Thatcher to life there.
