Where Canadians go
Interesting article in the Ottawa Citizen (and probably elsewhere) today about where Canadians go when they've had enough of Canada. It seems the main destinations are the USA (no, really?), the UK (for beer), Australia (to keep warm) and Italy/Poland (to die). Very interesting to see that more Canadians are going to the UK than there are Brits coming to Canada.

Re: Where Canadians go
It's here. I had a devil of a time finding it - their search engine needs a serious overhaul.

So, if more Canadians are leaving Canada than there are Brits coming to Canada, then why does it take such a flipping long time for us to get there?????

It's on the front page for me. Try canada.com - same outfit.
Interesting it is not in the "digital" version of the paper which is supposed to be an exact copy of the print version. So is it in the printed version or just the "online" version? |

It's not one-in, one-out! I guess the ancestry visa means a lot of Canadians are eligible for a UK visa.

Re: Where Canadians go
Looking at the figures here (around 5,000 Eng/Scot/Wales/NI heading to Canada a year), would it be fair to say that this site has helped a fair proportion of those to get there? Wouldn't like to get into figures (too much guessing), but it must be more than a few, taking into account members, visitors and family of members.
A (possibly) optimistic comment for once ... |
