im coming over to canada on 4th may im a bricklayer heading for edmonton any suggestions where best place is to settle for work and family how much is wages and how much tax do you pay?

I'd suggest Edmonton. Your wage will be $12 per hour for a 40 hour week, and you will pay at least $2.50 of that in tax.

Perhaps you could have looked up the labour market information for brickies in Edmonton, or suggested an edmonton neighbourhood instead.

Hopefully that was directed at the OP

In all seriousness, Woollends, in order to get some more accurate information you need to be a little more open as to your situation (do you have a visa or not? Is there any specific reason you choose Edmonton? What is your experience level work-wise? What is your budget? During your reasearch, what are the ball park wages you've seen for work that suits you? etc etc etc).
