Typically, 6-8 weeks before departure is a cheaper zone flightwise, Have a look at some of the online sites, expedia etc, on a regular basis to se where the flights are going, also play around with departure days as costs fluctuate according to day of the week.
hope this helps

Hi lian,
we booked about the same time in advance 6/8 weeks, we did it directly with canadian affair, they worked out the cheapest, we kept an eye on what the prices were like and the dates...it really does make a difference if you can fly during the week (mon-thurs) cos its much cheaper.
were hoping to move on the 12th june (fri) or sat 13th. at the moment they were offering a one way flight from manchester to vancouver for £90 or £235 on the sat !! thats without tax etc.
goodluck

Its a crap shoot. At least 21 days before for advance. No way of telling otherwise, there is no magic number of days or weeks. When one class of seats is sold out, it goes up to the next one at a higher price. Sales come and go. Leave it too late and you could miss out or pay more on popular routes and for high season, too early and you may end up missing a sale, but be sure of getting your seats.
