Coming to Canada and starting a new life is not an easy task. It helps a lot to reflect on the positive experiences. What I like better in Canada, compared with my former European country:
Most of the time friendly and helpful sales persons
“Lining up at the “Check-Out Counter
Visitors take of their shoes when entering a home
Children-friendly country ( free strollers in shopping malls, playgrounds and pick nick areas everywhere )
Easy going people (dress codes)
Business possibilities great and inexpensive! (Internet, phone, founding a small business at no costs)
People are often very helpful (Water for cyclist, when asking for way)
Few Racism (compared with Europe)
Women are respected
Social Services
Free Language and Computer instruction
Free Museums and Galeries, free Movies
Nature, nature, nature !!! (Greenpeace founded in Canada)
Clear air, sunny winter weather
Only a few smokers
Dog owners clean up when walking their dogs
Free picknick and BBQ areas
First Nations !!! Inuit !!!
Let me know what are your positive experiences in Canada?
Have a great week!

as a canadian I think its a great country.. so nothing to really compare it to .. yet..
we have a great arts community.. lots of good talent comes out of canada..
great sense of humour..
beautiful parks and trees, fairly clean (I say we can do better!)
multiculturalism..
never run out of a new restaurant to try, no matter what your taste buds feel like
I think the people are generally helpful and pleasant (although I think torontians could use a bit of work)
jobless rate isnt too bad (unless you are heading to the east coast)
housing is a bit insane $$.. I will say that! however, there are options...
anyone else care to share? I know there is a huge thread on whats canada really like.. it's just tooooo big
