Go with a smart suit with NO tie.

Not the 1950's, this is ultra-conservative Ottawa - he should wear a suit and tie!

Or better yet, a large box of Timbits to share with everyone when you arrive.

And farmers ploughing stuff, wearing their shirt and ties. Life and ploughing was very elegant back then i reckon.

Unlike these days where nobody cares where their seeds are planted.

110% suit and tie!! No question about it!!

I went to an "informal" interview or "chat" as they called it.....i wore a suit and tie, its shows you are proffessional and serious about the position.....I dont think you can ever be overdressed for a job interview... maybe if it for a labouring or casual type job yes, but not for anything else.

Good luck!

Do what all other guys do. You get your wife / Mom to tie it for you one time, then every time afterwards when you take it off slip it over your head without unfastening it. You can keep it that way for decades.

I think i'll remain firmly planted in modern times and not wear one. It'll be easier for all involved i think.

I don't own a tie. But if I did, I do have the ability to do a decent knot in it.
