what does the bank charge
hi can any body tell me how much my bank will charge for doing a bankers cheque so i can pay my temp work permit fees cheers

Yeah, it depends on the bank but it's likely to be in the region of 20 pounds.

Don't know if you have to send it in Canadian dollars, but we went with Barclays to send our fees bankers draft to London, as they could get a cheque in dollars the next day, whereas HSBC and Natwest required four days!!

I remember I shopped around (but that was a while ago, I used to live in Barnsley too) and Thomas Cook was the winner

We did it through hsbc - they quoted my £15.00 on the phone and 4 working days - when it went through they took £20.00 from my account - I complained and got the whole £20.00 back - cost me nothing!!!!
