Quite frankly nothing anymore...I lived all my adult life in North America and left little England in the 80s before the race riots/ tax riots and all the drug addict scum low-life took over! Only glad I got my education in UK when it was still good. My brother who left for Australia calls England a Hell Hole.

The "good" British folk are wonderful, great sense of humour, generous and helpful, some of the best folx in the world.
Unfortuntaley the Scum element is amongst the worst in the world as well ..real w**kers

Well, admittedly I haven't live there for over 30 years, but what I like about England is the old stuff. The old buildings etc. and the countryside and the fact that people go to the pub to meet their friends. Maybe some people go to get drunk, but us oldsters go for a "swift half" just to socialize.
I like it that, at least in the Kent village where my sister lives, people walk to the store all the time. By walk - I mean that thing where you put one foot in front of the other and you meet people on the street and chat to them.
In Regina everybody drives to the store. If you go to the mall and there is Walmart and a grocery store, you drive to Walmart and then you get in your car and you drive across the parking lot to the grocery store!

Some positives:
- nice, quiet pubs where you can have a conversation.
- compact travel
- very diverse and incredibly beautiful landscapes
- easy, cheap access to the continent
- cute robins
- museums
- old buildings
- wonderful slang
- Tesco's Bombay Mix
- parsnips, potatoes and leeks taste better here
- Brits are mad! ( compliment!
)
- I think British children sound incredibly sweet.
- three-wheeled cars!
- all the varied accents
- Royal Mail
- crop circles
- badgers, doormice, hedgehogs and other British wildlife
Sweeping generalization: I find British people generally far less prejudice, conformists and shallow than North Americans in many ways: I think they are far more willing to let everyone 'have a say' and not brush someone off or talk over someone just because they are 'different'; too old, too young, too dark, too female, too disabled. From my experience, I find Britain much more socially inclusive in many ways.
Oh and my British friends!
