Especially as the fur trade hasnt been part of their business for many many many years.

I can think of about 20 reasons not to shop at Zellers that have nothing to do with the HBC link...mostly because round here at least its like shopping in communist Romania...only one or two of everything on the shelf and if its gone you are SOL. It reminds me a lot of Kmart before they folded actually. I think the writing is on the wall for them.

Their insistence on maintaining some pretence of canadian ownership is annoying too, as HBC is owned by a mercan now. Maybe they just cant afford to rebrand.

I'd definately change dealer if I were you.
Probably just too much cheese before bed.

Plaid??? Haven't seen much of that since the 70's when the guy at Canada House wore a plaid suit when he interviewed us, and it really threw me off! But really, dbd, you need to get out more, or shop in real stores, LOL!

OMG! I am really having second thoughts about coming to Canada now.

Not because men only wear plaid, but cos they can spend so much time talking about clothes and shopping.

I hope its not contagious. If my OH decides to start coming shopping with me I will have to seriously change my spending habits or a divorce could be in the offing!

It's not just clothes and shopping. They love their washing machine chit chats as well:

I'm quite certain there's a whole 'private message' trade network specializing in crochet patterns going on as well.

Ah. Now I can ask. My tractor has a block heater (I don't know if the cars do as I've never bothered looking). Does the tractor need more block heating because it runs on diesel?

I dont know...I havent run a diesel (yet)

I think unless it gets reallly very very cold (like Alberta cold) the new diesels wont "gel", and they all have glow plugs anyway, so realy its the same old argument about extending engine life rather than getting it to go that applies.

And thats my last word on the subject...!
