Hello all i'm new to this site but for sometime now i have been reading other people's comments regarding Canada!
I dont know were to start really, I live here in the UK with my wife who is Canadian and we have been together for just over 5 years now.
I have one son here in the UK his mother and I split over 6 years ago but we still remain friends.

My wife early last year decided that she wanted to go back to Canada to settle this summer (2011) always knew it would happen just not so soon but as you can imagine I feel completely torn in two!! I would very much like to live in Canada i think its a great place so we both decided to start the visa process anyway as it can take some time, we are about half way through! we used a immigration consultant i thought this was best but in hindsight maybe not!!

Anyway my wife and i have spoke at great lengths about the move and while i do agree with her that the move would be a fantastic opportunity and we would be able to have a better quality of life I have a son that will be staying in the UK who i love very dearly.
My son is nearly nine and i really do not know if i will be able to walk away! I love both my wife and son and i feel completely in the middle, My wife and son get on very well and have a wonderful relationship.
My wife feels that she is being incredibly selfish in wanting to go back home and would love to be able to take Conner with us but this will not happen, He has got a wonderful mother here and a huge family around him.

I have spoken to Conners mum about the situation and she cant advise me on what i should be doing, If i were to make the move i would still keep regular contact with him through Skype/phone and we could visit him during holidays and he could come visit us!! But is that good enough as a parent or am I walking away from my responsibilities??

Any advice would be great!! Has anybody else been in a similar situation?? or is it just me!!!
