Hi there
We are in the very early stages of considering leaving the UK.
Canada is our prefered choice at the moment.
I am a Production engineer and am asking if anyone can tell me what part of Canada would be best suited to my line of work ie engineering / manufacturing.
Any advice would be much apreciated.

Don't come to Saskatchewan it is really over crowded and not suited at all to people looking for a nice place to live, lower cost of living than some other parts of Canada, nice people, no mountians, terrible inviting lakes............................ you get the picture don't you

For production / manufacturing then Ontario is the main manufacturing province...specifically along the "401 Corridor" east and west of Toronto and the GTA.
But there is demand in other provinces... there is a lot of oil related work in Alberta, but for manufacturing Ontario would be where most of the jobs are.
In reality any "what area is best" post is likely to get a bunch of people telling you that they are living in the best spot...and maybe that's true for them, but we are all different and looking for different things, so you are going to have to do some homework rather than rely on us. So the 401 is about 400+ miles long, but there should be somewhere nice along it, as long as you are not looking for mountains and a nice warm winter too.
Canada, what can I say, its a great big country.

Like someone recently said on here: Saskatchewan is like........."draw a line on a piece of paper, then look across the paper at eye level, that's what it's like".
Good luck wherever you decide to move to!

NO! NO! I agree with Lorna D. Saskatchewan really bites. Flat as a witches chest, you can stand on your roof, and watch your dog run away, for three days, True!!
