What are they and what do they taste of or similar to?
Thanks

'Hot wasabi peas' are:

I was eating some from a tin like the above when I signed up here and needed a login name.
They are a (addictive!) snack food from Japan; wasabi coated dried peas. Wasabi is a very hot horseradish from Japan - often maded into the fluorescent green paste usually served with sushi. It's not hot like 'chili hot' or 'curry hot', more like hot 'it will scorch your entire sinus cavity and kick you on your ass' hot.
I recommend this brand though. They're great and they have 'heat' (not that hot) and 'super high heat' (mind-blowing). Usually found in Japanese and sometimes Chinese grocery stores. In Victoria they're in regular grocery stores too.

And to sum up:

Just wondering now what the best way to eat Hot Wasabi Peas is:
Do you eat them slowly, rolling around your mouth with your tongue or just lap them up quickly. Guess it depends how hot they are!

Hello all,
wasabi paste is made from a plant related to the British horseraddish hence the hotness and tongue sensations. Hope this helps
