Jeez your geography is bad
Sussex Rocky Mountains, Snowdonia is in Wales and Ben Nevis is in Scotland, neither are anywhere nr Sussex.
coastal rainforests of Lincolnshire, Sherwood Forest is in Nottinghamshire and the New Forest is in hampshire.
the vast glacier fields in Aberdeenshire, youv'e never been to Aberdeen in January then?
the Essex desert, Not been to the Fens either?

I haven't done any of them but the scenery is SIMILAR, just on a grander scale here.

annie3-4, when you get daddy to read this out loud to you, you will notice that i did not have a preference over a particular country, i neither run down Canada or the UK, nor did i praise/put one above the other.

I am dismayed at how pathetic this site is becoming.
For a group of ex-pats who are supposed to be offering advice and helpful suggestions to each other, you should be ashamed at some of these posts.

Some people love the UK, good for them. Some people love Canada, good for them. At the end of the day just about everyone on this site has or had the same vision at one time. It hasn't worked out for some, and I truly believe that is tough and if they decide to go home, with a negative opinion, that is their entitlement. If it has worked out and everything is going well for another person, lucky them.

Why does it have to be reduced to a "pissing" match between Canada and the UK. Please highly opinated posters, Grow up and move on.

I teach my children to listen and consider the other person's point of view, before opening their mouths and talking. Some people on this site really should take that advice.

I know I will receive a barrage of insulting replies, so please dont bother.
I have had my fill of waste ot time posts.

I'm not about to call you names, if you don't like Canada that is your option but please don't refer to it as a "craphole". It's not!!!!.

If you are disappointed and wish to return to the UK that's fine.

A word of advice for you though. If you have been here long enough to get your Canadian citizenship I would suggest you do at least that. Because if you should decide after a couple of years that Canada wasn't so bad after all you could come back without having to do the immigration thing all over again. Don't close off all your options you may want to come back. You most likely won't but you never know. :)

I moved here from Liverpool 42 years ago and have seen a number of immigrants from the UK come to Canada and do nothing but complain about how much better things were in England. Then they have gone back and found it wasn't a rosy as they remembered and been back in Canada within two or three years sometimes less, singing a much different tune. It used to be called the $10,000 cure, the figure is probably much higher now.

well to be fair... given the size of canada you'd have to compare with europe...

Then I think you'd get a yes...

Oh and I have done all those things except cycle the Highwood pass... and quite frankly they're not bad but if you want the real beauty of canada get out of alberta and head north..... the best stuff is above 60..... NWT and Yukon

I had friends over here from the UK a couple of weeks ago. I cooked dinner for them, blokey, and four of my Canadian friends. I was struck by how un English I'm becoming, all they seemed to do was complain about how different things are over here, and how if they'd moved over here they would be as English as they possibly could be.

I said to blokey that my attitude being over here is to "Adapt or Die" I've made sure that I try as many Canadian things as possible, adapted the way I cook and grocery shop so that it fits the Canadian grocery stores and changed in lots of other small things, so that life is more comfortable. For example, I watch a lot less TV over here in the summer than I do in Winter, because it's so terrible. But I do things with my time in the evenings that most of my Canadian friends do - hang out on the porch, go for a walk, etc. etc....

I think if you come over here and think that you can make Canada British, then things are going to be very difficult for you.

How very true, About the only thing we regularly do now that we did in UK is watch Corrie. Other than that, it's now out with friends, out on the boat, sit on the deck, never played golf before but I do now. If you constantly complain your immigration process will fail, and you will lose Canadian friends too...

You have to remember that Brits have a global reputation as whiners or whingers (Australian?). It must be a genetic disorder.
