We live in Halifax and fancy a 3 day weekend break in September. We've done the usual WhitePoint Beach Resort etc a number of times, so fancy something different.
Were looking at Toronto, but it's going to cost us around $1200!
So, any Whitepoint-style places you'd suggest in N.B, N.S or PEI? We just want somewhere to relax and read, possibly walk, cycle and canoe also.
Thanks
J.

With regard to locations...
It's probably a bit off-season for PEI (some places will be closed) but I suppose it will be quiet there and room rates should be reasonably cheap (compared to July/August). Cavendish has lots of things going on although it's a bit touristy.
If you're interested in nature and natural wonders, I'd personally recommend somewhere around Parrsboro NS for the bay of Fundy. Nearby is Partridge Island, which has a pathway up and through the island to a nice look-off point. If you plan well, in accordance with the tides, you can also walk around the island. There are gem stones to be found there too.
Further down the cost is Five Islands park. Again, go there when the tide is a couple of hours from low tide and you can walk for as far as you dare.

Agree bay Funday is a good area, also found hopewell rocks is a nice area. PEI is ok but with all the wet weather not sure if you will find enough to do

I love PEI. It's beautiful and it's far from being 'closed' in September!
