Weather in the Okanagan area
After visiting the Okanagan region (Kamloops, Vernon and Kelowna) back in mid May I loved the fact it was nice and hot.
My question is, what is the weather like compared to ours (uk) from season to season.
I live in the Bristol area and it seems to rain quite alot, especially from now till March.
Is it dull and grey for months on end ?
I hope this makes sense

Fall - 10-20 degrees pretty dry no wind just nice everyday weather. Sept/Oct can be hit and miss, late Oct gets colder overnight. Xmas decorations put up before end of Oct due to dramatic drop in temps.
Winter - snows Nov, 6" or so, sticks around at higher levels, not much rain, as too cold after late October. Lows of -10, day temps of +5 to -5 not much wind chill, more snow after new year 6" or so. can get days on end of cloud due to lake/valley location but a few days of sun here and there and a view of the mountains, even if shrouded in cloud, is no big deal. If you want blue skies 365 days a year head to AB.
Spring - kicks in early, late Feb can be mild and pleasant, +5 to +10 degrees, colder overnight. BBQ'ing in Feb. May should be spring proper, some rain, real nice weather kicks in later, we had a few days of +35 in May 06.
Summer - very hot very dry highs of 35-40 some very nice warm nights at +25 degrees overnight. Long hot lazy endless days of summer, amazing sunsets, warm lake, bright blue cloudless skies.
All in all very very dry here. Info based on past 12 months which I hear are pretty reflective of normals thoigh not quite such a winter low, has been -25 in the past for a few nights, remember it's a dry cold not the UK damp cold you know and hate.
Rich.

But here are the Climate Normals 1971-2000 for Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon you can have a look yourself at the monthly averages for each location.
Cheers

Im sitting here in London crying into my tea thinking about the many weekends drinking far too much followed by the odd *cough* camberwell carrot, swimming in Lake Skaha and then that very good Thai near the lake. Good times.
