Default Weather in Calgary

Whats with the weather in Calgary? We've had rain almost every day since it became warm enough to not be snow. Its been dull and gloomy, not dissimilar to England.

Last summer was not brilliant either, but the first two I spent here were quite dry and warm.

We have the same crappy weather in Regina. Last year was hot, hot, hot and no rain. There was a drought, in fact. This year we have nothing but rain and cool weather. July can be in the high 30s here. This year I think we got to 23 one day!!!

I think Vancouver has our summer weather. They have hot weather and no rain. I think they should take their weather back and send us ours!

Ontario is unusually crappy as well, been "hot" for about 4 days this year, and that was weeks ago now. Too cold to swim in lake ontario still, we were at the beach on Saturday, and even the shallow inland lake there was still cool. This sucks... I want my summer!

LOL...my husband lived in Calgary for a year. He said there's this saying...if you don't like the weather, wait a few hours (or something like that). It could be cold one moment, and summery the next. Chinooks?

Sorry to hear about the gloomy weather though, that always stinks!

Gee I guess the whole of Canada is in the same icy grip! It was lovely last week but this week is overcast and drizzely....Last week, when we were in the UK the weather was super...hot! Perhaps we have done a switch for a year!

Hi Corky,
sorry to say it's gone down hill since you were here, down in south of uk this week now storms and floods, in kent area, supposed to hit north of uk tonight. It was hot in May, but don't see us getting any summer sun this year. When i lived in Calgary i remember it being hot through all of summer, and below20 to 30 through winter, but no rain and always sunny winter aswell.

I noticed that some places are having a hard time back home:

Sorry to report this but we have had a good summer so far (apart from today!).

Our summer started in April and has been pretty good since then, with a few exceptions. Had more rain this year than last but that is good due to the forest fire situation.

Since I have been here the shorts have gone on in April and are put away in October......sorry!

JJ

I have been giving away bits of furniture to my buddies in Calgary. Loading vehicles in torrential rain isn't fun!

Just got back from a camping trip down to the Brooks area - it was fine until Wednesday when it dropped to 7C and rained for 24 hours.

Brooks isn't exciting - one movie house with one screen, some malls, even Zellers is leaving town.

Lake Newall is nice when it isn't pissing down.....
