We won, we won - final score - 3-2 Canada over Finland - great game - both teams played really really well.

Congratulations Canada!!!!!!!

We'll know by tomorrow if the NHL is happening this year ... not too fussed personally, I'm happy to watch WHL games, haven't been to a NHL games since 2002.

You know, it no point in this thread (so far) is there ANY mention of the sport Canada won at!!!!!!.....tells you all you need to know about how sports rate in this country!

Canadian sports hierarchy ....
#1 Hockey
#2 Golf
#3 Any Winter Olympics type sport
#4 Football
#5 Curling (the only sport where you can safely drink while you play)
#6 Lacrosse
#7 Baseball

#6 & #7 might be joint - nobody was too upset when Calgary lost its baseball team, plus the Canadian Baseball League folded part way through the season and nobody blinked.

Everything else is a minority activity

They seem to like there Hockey here...and thats not field hockey for the record! For those in the UK there is no such thing as "ice hockey" here, saying that will get you one of those looks.

Calgary has two seasons - Construction season and Hockey season.
