Hi all
After scanning the forum and the far-too-helpful Wiki we have finally got rounded to posting. Following few months of hectic planning we (two of us in our mid twenties) fly out from Gatwick to Vancouver on the 29th of this month!
My OH has been offered a career opportunity that was too good to pass up. He is now the proud owner of a 2-year TWP and I have an open work permit. OH’s work will be primarily based in the Langley area and I am hoping to work for my current employer from their Vancouver office (fingers crossed!!!!) The commute I may have to do is a concern but I am v. thankful that it looks like I will get a job.
I have been on several holidays there over the past few years (including a reccie/ hol in late summer 08) and OH worked for his employers during his Uni gap year and holidays.
We are really looking forward to the adventure and I do not think we would have been prepared if it had not been for the posts on this site….so thank you!
I am sure we will have many questions during our first few months in BC so you have been warned!!

Hi
Just a quick post to say thanks for the words of support!
We had lots of family parties over the weekend – it was fun and sad all at the same time. I have a poorly Nana am I am worried it would be the last time I saw her so there was a few tears. BUT you can’t think like that or you’ll never go ……so we talked about Xmas 09 instead. It was better to look forward rather than back.
Dreading the final goodbye with my mum as we are so close.
Now we are in the mist of packing and we have far too much stuff!
Very excited to just get on the plane and start our adventure!!
Right back to the suitcases........
